Today we made ​​a day of Equalization Technique. The first, and we have agreed that we have an excellent group of high level and with a promising future. I want to formally thank each of the students, that despite the date, time and distance, were present, and worked for 3 hours with great dedication. Furthermore, and in particular, to thank the union for providing us aysa facilities, Professor and Coach Carlos Ruben Gomez tulle, colleagues Ruben Mauricio Gomez, Matias Nahuel Gomez. And the senior instructors Chaviel David Alejandro, Juan Ibarra, Javier Ledesma Tkd Gago and Taekwon Do. Thank you very much to all!

ITF-TAO Canada Black Belt training

ITF-TAO Canada held a its monthly black belt training this past weekend in Oakville.  Forty black belts from across Ontario took part in the training to celebrate the birthday of the ITF (March 22) as well as the birthday of FGMR.  Prior to the training the students lined up and facetime was used to contact FGMR and wish him a happy birthday.

Emily Hadubiak of Oakridge Taekwon-Do and Griffin Yacynuk of Morningstar Taekwon-Do took double gold in Jr. girls and boys 2nd dan pattern and sparring divisions at the recent CET Pro Martial Arts Championships. It was a great showing for ITF-TAO as we had 16 competitiors and came home with over 22 awards.  Congratulations to everyone who participated.

New Black Belts in London

On Saturday, February 8, Oakridge Taekwon-Do promoted 5 students to 1st degree black belt and 1 student to 2nd degree black belt.  The test was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar and assisted by Oakridge Taekwon-Do Head Instructor Mrs. Cathy Hadubiak.  This was the first ever black belt promotion test at Oakridge TKD.  The 4 hour examination began with a physical test of 5 minutes of skipping, 30 push-ups, 30 sit-ups and 10 berpies.  The actual test was divided into 5 categories: patterns and fundamental movements, self-defense, sparring (which included 3 & 1-step sparring & model sparring), breaking and theory (a written test was completed by all candidates prior to this date).  Congratulations on your promotions and good work promoting Taekwon-Do in the City of London.

2014 Annual Technical Conference

On the weekend of January 17-20, sixty three blue belt to 7th degree black belt participants from accross the United States and Canada decended on St. John's, Newfoundland for our Annual Technical Conference an AGM.  Tthe AGM was held on the Friday evening with all members of the Board of Directors in attendance.  The training was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar with special guest Master Andrew Rhee.  All 24 patterns, 3, 2 & 1-step sparring was covered throughout the two days.  Keeping true to the teachings of the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, the students and instructors were drilled on correct sine wave and the proper application of techniques.  By the end of the 10 hour training everyone was exausted but motivated in their efforts to keep Chang Hun Taekwon-Do alive in it’s purist form.  A promotion test was also held for 3rd and 4th dan candidates.  Congratulations to all those who were successful in their quest for higher dan levels.

FGMR accepts “Distinguished Member” status

At the recent ITF-TAO AGM and Technical Conference First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha was granted "Distinguished Member" status by the membership of ITF-TAO.  “Distinguished Member" is the highest membership attainable in ITF-TAO and was created solely for FGMR.  In a letter read at the meeting FGMR stated that "further to your corresponded request, I acknowledge and accept the status of “Distinguished Member”".  The future of ITF-TAO looks bright under the tutelage of First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha.

New Ranks in Newfoundland

Cabot Taekwon-Do in St. John's, Newfoundland is pleased to welcome several new members to its growing Black Belt club.  On Saturday November 23rd, six students were promoted to 1st Dan under the watchful eye of Mr. Rick Winsor, Vth Dan.  Family, friends and fellow students were on hand to support as they successfully completed their nearly five-hour grading.  Congratulations to all those reaping the rewards of your hard work and perserverance and best of luck as you enter this new phase of your Taekwon-Do journey!

Promotions in Argentina

On Saturday December 7th, Atlético San Miguel Argentina held their year-end examinations During the first segment of the grading more than 50 students colored belt students were successful moving up to the next level. At the conclusion of the colored belt grading a black belt test was also conducted. The panel was chaired by Master Oscar D'Agata, President of ITF TAO South America and Argentina, Sabum Nim Alberto Figueroa, Director of ABAT and Director Alejandro Chaviel A.A.T.T. Congratulations to everyone on achieving your new ranks!!!

Annual Technical Seminar in Philadelphia

For the 8th year in a row, Hwa-Rang Warriors and Otts Taekwon-Do hosted a seminar conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director, Mr. Mike Morningstar. The seminar was attended by 130 students and instructors from all over the area. Members of ITF-TAO and the A.T.F.I filled the John M. Perzel Center in Philadelphia. The seminar started with an extensive warm-up followed by and explanation of proper kicking, patterns, 3 and 1 step sparring and self-defence.  It was a great day for all that attended and inspired everyone to get back in the Dojang as soon as possible and get back to work.
