Technical Seminar at CFB Borden

On Saturday June 14th Integrity TKD and head instructor Mr. Dwayne Bos hosted their first technical seminar conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar.  The seminar was held on Canadian Fforces Base Borden and Instructors and students from Integrity TKD, Morningstar TKD, Smiths TKD participated.  The 4-hour long training session coverd basic movements, patterns, 3-step, 2-step and 1-step sparring.  The seminar was followed by a promotion test for colored belt ranks.

Technical Conference in Nicaragua

On the weekend of May 17th, plus blue belt to 6th degree black belt participants gathered in Managua, Nicaragua for the 3rd Annual Technical Conference.  Students and Instructors from Canada, USA and Nicaragua were in attendance.  ITF-TAO President Mr. Roland Klassen, VP Mr Sean Sutton and Treasurer Mr. Scott Seguin took the trip along with a few other black belts from Canada and the USA.  The training was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar.  Patterns, 3, 2 & 1-step sparring was covered throughout the day in temperatures of 90 degrees ferenheight.  Keeping true to the teachings of the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, the students and instructors were drilled on correct sine wave and the proper application of techniques.  By the end of the 7 hour training everyone was exausted but motivated in their efforts to keep Chang Hun Taekwon-Do alive in it’s purist form.  A promotion test was also held.  Congratulations to all those who were successful in their quest for higher dan levels.

Today we made ​​a day of Equalization Technique. The first, and we have agreed that we have an excellent group of high level and with a promising future. I want to formally thank each of the students, that despite the date, time and distance, were present, and worked for 3 hours with great dedication. Furthermore, and in particular, to thank the union for providing us aysa facilities, Professor and Coach Carlos Ruben Gomez tulle, colleagues Ruben Mauricio Gomez, Matias Nahuel Gomez. And the senior instructors Chaviel David Alejandro, Juan Ibarra, Javier Ledesma Tkd Gago and Taekwon Do. Thank you very much to all!

2014 Annual Technical Conference

On the weekend of January 17-20, sixty three blue belt to 7th degree black belt participants from accross the United States and Canada decended on St. John's, Newfoundland for our Annual Technical Conference an AGM.  Tthe AGM was held on the Friday evening with all members of the Board of Directors in attendance.  The training was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar with special guest Master Andrew Rhee.  All 24 patterns, 3, 2 & 1-step sparring was covered throughout the two days.  Keeping true to the teachings of the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, the students and instructors were drilled on correct sine wave and the proper application of techniques.  By the end of the 10 hour training everyone was exausted but motivated in their efforts to keep Chang Hun Taekwon-Do alive in it’s purist form.  A promotion test was also held for 3rd and 4th dan candidates.  Congratulations to all those who were successful in their quest for higher dan levels.

Annual Technical Seminar in Philadelphia

For the 8th year in a row, Hwa-Rang Warriors and Otts Taekwon-Do hosted a seminar conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director, Mr. Mike Morningstar. The seminar was attended by 130 students and instructors from all over the area. Members of ITF-TAO and the A.T.F.I filled the John M. Perzel Center in Philadelphia. The seminar started with an extensive warm-up followed by and explanation of proper kicking, patterns, 3 and 1 step sparring and self-defence.  It was a great day for all that attended and inspired everyone to get back in the Dojang as soon as possible and get back to work.

Annual Technical Seminar in Oakville

On Saturday November 16th, 120 students of all ages and belt levels gathered in Oakville for the Annual ITF-TAO Technical Seminar.  Instructors and students from Morningstar TKD, Johnson's TKD, Oakridge TKD, Smith TKD and Chon-Ji Martial Arts participated in the 4-hour long training session that cover patterns, 3-step, 2-step and 1-step sparring as well as self-defence.  An extra hour at the end was devoted to black belt patterns from Kwang-Gae to Tong-Il.  The seminar was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mike Morningstar and assisted by 6th Dan Mr. Denis Alvey of Chon-Ji TKD.

Our Annual Technical Conference and AGM will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday January 17-19, 2014 in the beautiful city of St. John’s Newfoundland. The AGM will take place from 7-10pm on the Friday in the Confederation Board Room at the Sheraton St. John’s. Training will begin Saturday morning at 8:30am Sharp in the Salon “B” room of the Sheraton and will be conducted by the Technical Director of ITF-TAO. Sundays training will be conducted by Master Andrew K.H. Rhee and will be for 3rd Dan and above.

Annual Technical Seminar at Oakridge TKD

On Saturday April 27, ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar conducted a 5 hour technical seminar in London, Ontario. The event was hosted by Mrs. Cathy Hadubiak, head instructor of Oakridge Taekwon-Do, and was attended by students from Cabot TKD, Chon-ji Martial Arts, Morningstar TKD and Oakridge TKD. Twenty-nine participants from blue belt to 3rd degree black belt were put to the test with a very challenging warm up.

Mr. Morningstar covered fundamental movements,  kicking drills, patterns, step sparring and self-defense. The last hour of the day was devoted to black belt patterns. This was the 6th annual training workshop hosted in London.

Technical Conference and AGM a huge success

On the weekend of January 25-227, one hundred red belt to 7th degree black belt participants from across Canada and the USA  decended on Oakville for our Annual Technical Conference.  ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar and special guest Master Andrew K.H. Rhee from Australia (eldest son of FGMR)  took everyone through all 24 patterns throughout the two days.

Keeping true to the teachings of the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, the students and instructors were drilled on correct sine wave and the proper application of techniques.  By the end of the 10 hour training everyone was exausted but motivated in their efforts to keep Chang Hun Taekwon-Do alive in it’s purist form.  We will see everyone at next years Technical Conference in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
