Technical Conference in Nicaragua

On the weekend of May 17th, plus blue belt to 6th degree black belt participants gathered in Managua, Nicaragua for the 3rd Annual Technical Conference.  Students and Instructors from Canada, USA and Nicaragua were in attendance.  ITF-TAO President Mr. Roland Klassen, VP Mr Sean Sutton and Treasurer Mr. Scott Seguin took the trip along with a few other black belts from Canada and the USA.  The training was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar.  Patterns, 3, 2 & 1-step sparring was covered throughout the day in temperatures of 90 degrees ferenheight.  Keeping true to the teachings of the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, the students and instructors were drilled on correct sine wave and the proper application of techniques.  By the end of the 7 hour training everyone was exausted but motivated in their efforts to keep Chang Hun Taekwon-Do alive in it’s purist form.  A promotion test was also held.  Congratulations to all those who were successful in their quest for higher dan levels.

7th Annual Technical Seminar in London

On Saturday, April 26, ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar conducted a 6 hour technical seminar in London, Ontario. The event was hosted by Mrs. Cathy Hadubiak, head instructor of Oakridge Taekwon-Do, and was attended by students from Morningstar TKD and Oakridge TKD.  Twenty-nine participants from red stripe to 3rd degree black belt were put to the test with a very challenging warm up.  Mr. Morningstar covered fundamental movements, kicking drills, patterns, step sparring, sparring and self-defense. The last hour of the day was devoted to black belt patterns. This was the 7th annual training workshop hosted in London.

New Ranks in New Jersey

On Thursday April 17, 2014. There was a testing hosted at Hwa-Rang Warriors Taekwon-Do Studio in Pennsauken New Jersey. All of the students you see in this photo is the first wave of students of Mr. Sevendora Leang since he first opened his school in September of 2013. With all of the students hard work, all of the students have receive their next rank. At this time, this has been the school largest testing. Congratulation to the new ranking students.

ITF-TAO Pakistan hosts 3rd Junior Championships

From March 29th to April 2nd, 2014 we are glad to inform you that the ITF-TAO Pakistan organized 3rd All Pakistan Junior Championships Taekwon-Do.  It was a great event in which students from all over the Pakistan participated. Special guests included the 3 Ambassadors of different countries and Pakistan Sports Minister as well as many Members of Parliament and Officials.  They expressed their appreciation for Original Taekwon-Do and the promotion of ITF-TAO in Pakistan.

In total there were 587 Junior Competitors who participated in the Championships. The great work of the official umpires and ITF-TAO members and their collaboration during all 5 days of competition was thanked by the President of the all Pakistan Taekwon-Do Federation ITF-TAO Pakistan President Mr. RANA SADAQAT ALI, Mian Maqsod Ahmad and Abuzer Ghaffari, It was a great successful event and all of the winners were awarded Cash Prizes, Medals, certificates and Belts with all umpires at the end of this championship. A great thank you goes to all those who made this championship remarkable.

ITF-TAO Croatia Hosts 1st National Championship

ITF-TAO Croatia held their first National Championships and it was a huge success. The intense event hosted 140 competitors competing in patterns and sparring. Participated competitors from the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia. Special thank you to Master Zlatko Sliško, Mr.Josip Petrovic, Croatian TaeKwon-Do Union for their support. Great work ITF-TAO Croatia!

ITF-TAO fairs well Martial Arts Championships

Emily Hadubiak of Oakridge Taekwon-Do and Griffin Yacynuk of Morningstar Taekwon-Do took double gold in Jr. girls and boys 2nd dan pattern and sparring divisions at the recent CET Pro Martial Arts Championships. It was a great showing for ITF-TAO as we had 16 competitiors and came home with over 22 awards.  Congratulations to everyone who participated.

New Black Belts in London

On Saturday, February 8, Oakridge Taekwon-Do promoted 5 students to 1st degree black belt and 1 student to 2nd degree black belt.  The test was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar and assisted by Oakridge Taekwon-Do Head Instructor Mrs. Cathy Hadubiak.  This was the first ever black belt promotion test at Oakridge TKD.  The 4 hour examination began with a physical test of 5 minutes of skipping, 30 push-ups, 30 sit-ups and 10 berpies.  The actual test was divided into 5 categories: patterns and fundamental movements, self-defense, sparring (which included 3 & 1-step sparring & model sparring), breaking and theory (a written test was completed by all candidates prior to this date).  Congratulations on your promotions and good work promoting Taekwon-Do in the City of London.

FGMR accepts “Distinguished Member” status

At the recent ITF-TAO AGM and Technical Conference First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha was granted "Distinguished Member" status by the membership of ITF-TAO.  “Distinguished Member" is the highest membership attainable in ITF-TAO and was created solely for FGMR.  In a letter read at the meeting FGMR stated that "further to your corresponded request, I acknowledge and accept the status of “Distinguished Member”".  The future of ITF-TAO looks bright under the tutelage of First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha.

New Ranks in Newfoundland

Cabot Taekwon-Do in St. John's, Newfoundland is pleased to welcome several new members to its growing Black Belt club.  On Saturday November 23rd, six students were promoted to 1st Dan under the watchful eye of Mr. Rick Winsor, Vth Dan.  Family, friends and fellow students were on hand to support as they successfully completed their nearly five-hour grading.  Congratulations to all those reaping the rewards of your hard work and perserverance and best of luck as you enter this new phase of your Taekwon-Do journey!
