Philadelphia Annual Technical Seminar

On Saturday December 5th, ninety plus people from nine Dojangs from the USA and Canada gathered in the “City of Brotherly Love” Philadelphia, PA for the Annual Technical Seminar.

Event hosts, Mr. Sean Sutton and Mr. Fran Ott did a fantastic job as usual bringing together ITF-TAO United States members.

The 4-hour training session included patterns from Chon-Ji to Se-Jeong, kicking drills, basic movements and physical conditioning.

Millennium Cup a Huge Success

The 2nd Annual ITF-TAO Millennium Cup was held on Saturday November 28th at the Cassie Campbell Community Center in Brampton, Ontario.

Tournament host Mr. Sergio Plaja and the organising committee from Millennium Taekwon-Do did a fantastic job moving 200+ competitors through patterns and sparring in just over 5 hrs.

Congratulations Mr. Plaja and Millennium Taekwon-Do.

ITF-TAO Nicaragua Nationals

On Saturday November 28th ITF-TAO Nicaragua held their National Championships. Eight schools of the city of Leon and another in the municipality of Ticuantepe attended with a total of 95 participants.

ITF-TAO Nicaragua congratulates competitor David Guadamuz, for his outstanding performance, Mr. Guadamuz, despite having lost his arm showed that perseverance and indomitable spirit prevails.

TAO Welcomes McCarthy’s TKD in Newfoundland

ITF-TAO would like to welcome Mr. Chuck McCarthy (standing left) and the students of McCarthy’s Taekwon-Do in Manuels CBS, Newfoundland as our latest member.

Mr. McCarthy is a ITF certified 4th Dan black belt and will come under the direction of ITF-TAO Umpire Director Mr. Rick Winsor, Vth Dan of Cabot Taekwon-Do in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Congratulations to Mr. McCarthy and welcome to the ITF-TAO family.

Thank you Mr. Winsor for your hard work and dedication spreading the original Taekwon-Do of the founder General Choi Hong Hi in Newfoundland.

14th Annual Newfoundland Seminar

On the weekend of November 20-22, sixty one students from white belt through 5th Dan black belt attended the 14th annual Technical Seminar in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Mr. Rick Winsor and the students from Cabot TKD, Mr. Jeff Butt and the students of Terra Nova TKD and our newest member, McCarthy’s TKD and the students from McCarthy’s TKD were in attendance.

Friday evening was the black belt portion of the seminar which covered Kwang-Gae tul – Moon-Moo tul as well as 3, 2 and 1-step sparring over a 3-hour period. Saturday began at 1pm with a good warm-up, basica movements, kicking drills and patterns from Chon-Ji to Choong-Moo.

Congratulations to Mr. Winsor and the students of Cabot TKD for hosting another successful event.

6th Annual Technical Seminar in Ottawa

On Saturday October 17th an ITF-TAO Technical Seminar was held for fifty Taekwon-Do practitioners in the Ottawa region. The seminar was hosted by Johnsons Taekwon-Do and conducted by TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar. The training began with an intense warm-up followed by fundamental exercises, kicking drills and color belt and black belt patterns. Special thanks to Mr. Johnson and Mr. Hanna for your great work promoting the Original Taekwon-Do of General Choi Hong Hi in the Nations Capital.

On Saturday September 26th Morningstar Taekwon-Do held their annual Technical Seminar at Kings Christian Collegiate in Oakville. The seminar began with an intensive warm-up and moved right into basic movements, patterns, step sparring, model sparring and self-defence. The training was 4 hours in length, the first 2 hours for yellow belt and above and the last 2 hours for black belts only.

On Sunday September 6, 2015 ITF-TAO Vice President Mr. Pierson Adan Solis conducted a pattern seminar in the city of Leon, Nicaragua. Next up for Nicaragua is the visit by FGMR in February of 2016. Good work ITF-TAO Nicaragua!

Our condolences Ken Pennell’s family

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death of Kenneth Pennell who died tragically in a boating accident Monday evening. Kenneth is a former student and is the father of Lauren Pennell a current student of Cabot Taekwon-Do in Newfoundland. Kenneth will be greatly missed by all of the Cabot Taekwon-Do family. He is pictured with his wife Tammy and daughter Lauren at the 2015 Can-Am Championships.

ITF-TAO Nicaragua Continues to Grow

On the 8th of August, an official signing ceremony took place to welcome new members to ITF-TAO Nicaragua. Under the guidance of ITF-TAO Vice-President Mr. Pierson Aidan Solis, ITF-TAO continues to grow. We are looking forward to the visit of First Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha to Managua, Nicaragua in February of 2016.
