TAO Hong Kong held their first class in the Year of the Rabbit on January 30th. The Lunar New Year begins on the second new moon after winter solstice and this year in in Hong Kong it happened on January 22nd. As with many winter solstice celebrations the symbolic darkness of night is banished by the light of fireworks, lanterns, and candles.

On the weekend of January 27-29, one hundred red belt and black belt students, instructors and Masters from across Canada attended our first Annual Technical Conference an AGM since 2020. The AGM was held on the Friday evening with members of the Board of Directors in attendance. During the Technical Conference all 24 patterns as well as 3 & 1-step sparring were covered. Keeping true to the teachings of the founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi, the students and instructors were drilled on correct sine wave and the proper application of techniques. By the end of the 12 hour training everyone was exhausted but motivated in their efforts to keep Chang Hun Taekwon-Do alive in its purist form. Thank you to ITF-TAO Canada for hosting this year. We all look forward to the 2024 Technical Conference and AGM.
November 11-13, 2022
Instructors and students from the USA and Canada gathered in Albuquerque, New Mexico during the weekend of November 11-13 for the ITF-TAO International Instructor Training Course. Such topics as how to conduct a proper warm up, teaching a beginner the first class, how to motivate and encourage students as well as Sambo Matsogi, Ilbo Matsogi, Hosinsul, Umpire rules and procedures and of course all 24 Tuls. Keeping true to the Original teachings of General Choi Hong Hi, the training secrets and theory of power was explained in detail. There was also a promotion test following the International Instructors Course. Congratulations to those who were successful in their quest for new ranks.

April was a very special month for TAO Honduras as they received and presented their first ITF-TAO black belt certificates. New degrees were presented to Alfredo Matute, Francisco Borjas. Congratulations!

An afternoon of mixed emotions during the humble tribute to Master Oscar D’Agata. After commemorating the anniversary of his birth 51 years earlier, the class was held in the open air on the CASM playing field. We thank each participant for the effort of having attended and the club directors for allowing us to occupy their facilities. Master D’Agata, you will forever be always present in our hearts… We follow your Legacy. Taekwon!
