Fifty Oakridge Taekwon-Do students from white belt to red belt recently attempted and were successful in their quest for new ranks. The test was conducted by ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar and assisted by Oakridge Taekwon-Do Head Instructor Mrs. Cathy Hadubiak.

On Saturday December 12th nineteen students form Integrity Taekwon-Do at CFB Borden were successful in their quest for new ranks.
The grading was conducted by 4th Dan Instructor Mr. Derek Morningstar assisted by Mr. Dwayne Bos. Luc and Jasmine Blanchette were successfully promoted to Red Belt, a hallmark level for our club.
All students did an excellent job demonstrating their knowledge and techniques.

On November 8 the Carioca Open Taekwon-Do ITF Championship was held in Rio De Janeiro, Brasil. More than 200 competitors from Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina made this event an unforgettable day.
ITF-TAO Brasil delegation was represented by seven competitors who proved to be to the height of the circumstances in a tournament of great individual hierarchy.
We thank the organization Traditional Taekwon-Do Kwan and Sabum Nim Thaís Melo for hosting this excellent event.

On November 15 in the town of Burzaco the 3rd Choi Cup Tournament was held. ITF-TAO Argentina was represented by a Jr. Girls team, led by Coach Ruben Ruiz and assisted by Oriana Campillay, Brisa Stricker and Giuliana Ruiz. Congratulations ITF-TAO Argentina members.

On Saturday December 5th, ninety plus people from nine Dojangs from the USA and Canada gathered in the “City of Brotherly Love” Philadelphia, PA for the Annual Technical Seminar.
Event hosts, Mr. Sean Sutton and Mr. Fran Ott did a fantastic job as usual bringing together ITF-TAO United States members.
The 4-hour training session included patterns from Chon-Ji to Se-Jeong, kicking drills, basic movements and physical conditioning.

The 2nd Annual ITF-TAO Millennium Cup was held on Saturday November 28th at the Cassie Campbell Community Center in Brampton, Ontario.
Tournament host Mr. Sergio Plaja and the organising committee from Millennium Taekwon-Do did a fantastic job moving 200+ competitors through patterns and sparring in just over 5 hrs.
Congratulations Mr. Plaja and Millennium Taekwon-Do.

On Saturday November 28th ITF-TAO Nicaragua held their National Championships. Eight schools of the city of Leon and another in the municipality of Ticuantepe attended with a total of 95 participants.
ITF-TAO Nicaragua congratulates competitor David Guadamuz, for his outstanding performance, Mr. Guadamuz, despite having lost his arm showed that perseverance and indomitable spirit prevails.

On the weekend of November 20-22, sixty one students from white belt through 5th Dan black belt attended the 14th annual Technical Seminar in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Mr. Rick Winsor and the students from Cabot TKD, Mr. Jeff Butt and the students of Terra Nova TKD and our newest member, McCarthy’s TKD and the students from McCarthy’s TKD were in attendance.
Friday evening was the black belt portion of the seminar which covered Kwang-Gae tul – Moon-Moo tul as well as 3, 2 and 1-step sparring over a 3-hour period. Saturday began at 1pm with a good warm-up, basica movements, kicking drills and patterns from Chon-Ji to Choong-Moo.
Congratulations to Mr. Winsor and the students of Cabot TKD for hosting another successful event.

On Saturday, November 7th, ITF-TAO Technical Director Mr. Mike Morningstar conducted a 4 hour technical seminar in London, Ontario. The event was hosted by Mrs. Cathy Hadubiak, head instructor of Oakridge Taekwon-Do and was attended by students from Morningstar TKD and Oakridge TKD. Sixty participants from yellow belt to 4th degree black belt were put to the test with a very challenging warm up. Mr. Morningstar covered fundamental movements, kicking drills, patterns, step sparring and self-defense. The last two hours of the day was devoted to black belt patterns. This was the 9th annual training workshop hosted in London.
